This page is the online extension of The World I Grew Into at JICAF 2026, created to bring you closer to the stories, objects and details behind the collection.

Best experienced twice: online, then in real life.

The World I Grew Into is a collection of memories, places, objects and observations that have quietly shaped the way I see and create.

Through illustrations, handmade objects and pieces drawn from my personal archive, this exhibition looks back at the world I have collected over the years and the artist I have grown into because of it.

The Art Bag is the hero product of The World I Grew Into, a limited series of 10 one-of-one beaded purses, each carrying its own title and story. Sewn locally, hand beaded by Dinda Puspitasari. Only one of each exists, and none will be reproduced.

The World I Grew Into began from an older illustration of mine. I found it again and thought maybe I don’t need to make something completely new. Maybe I can come back to something I made before, redraw it, and let it grow together with the version that I am today. It felt very fitting for this year’s JICAF theme, Continuum.

The girl is there, sitting quietly under the calm blue sky. But this time, the world around her has become much fuller. There are flowers, coral reefs, mountains, fish, changing skies, little objects that remind me of home, and bits and pieces from places I have been. Basically, all the things I keep noticing, loving, remembering, and somehow bringing back into my work.

I think this artwork is also my way of looking back and realizing how much my world has grown. The old illustration is still exactly in it, but now there are more layers and depth, more versions of me in it.

The World I Grew Into became the main visual for my JICAF 2026 collection and the starting point for all the artworks, objects, and little stories that came after it. 🌷🐠🏡

is an extension of The World I Grew Into, created as a more playful and versatile visual language that could live across different objects and products, from my point of view as a product designer.

While The World I Grew Into looks outward at the places, memories and experiences that have shaped me, Homebody turns inward. It is a visualization of my home, the things I surround myself with, and the little details that make being at home feel like home.

Each element carries something personal. The red apple represents my travels and the pieces of different places that I bring home with me. The black and white cow represents Diana, my best friend. There is a tiny ladybug inspired by one that occasionally visits my pink bathroom, a pansy for spring and my favorite flower, and especially my begonia plant, which I probably give a little too much attention to at home.

And together as a whole, homebody represents my feeling, my love being at home with my husband. They become a collection of small things I love, memories I keep close, and the everyday world I have built around myself.

Homebody is another piece of The World I Grew Into, just seen from inside my home.
